I asked my aunt for some of her favorite recipes so that they don't get forgotten over time and this is one of them!

Ingredients

  • 1 lg 2lb pkg tostadas (or chips)
  • 5 lb Monterrey Jack cheese
  • 3-4 chopped onions
  • 2-3 pods chopped garlic
  • 2 lb cans stewed tomatoes, drained
  • 4 cans Rotel
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (1 lb cans)
  • 4 lbs ground chuck or turkey
  • 1 quart sour cream

How To...

Sautee onion & garlic til just done. Brown meat and drain. Add salt & pepper. Add tomatoes, rotel & tomato sauce. Let simmer—the longer the better.

Layer tostados, sauce & grated cheese; repeat layer. Cover with foil & refrigerate until ready to bake.

Bake 350 for 30-45 minutes in greased 9×13 pan until bubbly & cheese has melted. Spread with sour cream after removing from oven.

The recipe above is for a 20 person party... you can cut everything in half and it turns out great.
