This recipe if from my Great Grandmother. It's easy and sooo delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg (or cinnamon)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 c milk (buttermilk is better)
  • Fresh sliced peaches (or can)
  • 1/2 c sugar

How To...

Melt oleo into 9×12 in pan (I like it thicker so I use the square 8 in pan-but it may need to bake longer). Mix together sugar, flour, nutmeg, baking powder, and milk. Pour batter over melted butter. Place peaches on top with a little juice. Sprinkle 1/2 c sugar on top. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or test with a toothpick.
