A spicy variation of an old family recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 Can Pork & Beans
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 1 Bell (Green) Pepper
  • 4 Slices Bacon
  • 2 Tsp Yellow Mustard
  • 1/4 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • Sliced Nacho Style Jalepeno Peppers to Taste

How To...

Dice Bacon and put into non-stick sauce pan. Whlle cooking, dice the onion and the bell pepper. When Bacon is browned, put in onions and bell pepper. Cook until onions are soft and beginning to be translucent. Add in can of pork and beans and stir. Add Mustard, Ketchup and Brown Sugar and stir. Dice the Jalapeno pepper slices. Start with 5 or 6 slices. You can always add a few more if need be. Stir into beans. Cook at very low heat, stirring frequently. Serve when the other food is ready.

About the Chef

jawolgamott jawolgamott

Jim Wolgamott

Influences: From Meat & Potatoes Farm-Style (Thanks Mom), to Arizona/Sonora Mexican, and Gulf Coast Cajun

Location: Houston is Home Base, but I work and live extensively internationally too.

Favorite Piece of Cooking Equipment: Summer - Outside BBQ (saves on A/C costs) and Winter - Oven (Saves on Heating Costs) Hey I'm an Engineer. I can't help it.

Favorite Recipes: Most Holiday Cooking ... Thank Goodness it's only twice a year. Any grilled quality meat or fish on the BBQ. Baked Potato Soup from Houston's Goode Company BBQ Sauce (how does he do it?) I can't come close, even with the recipe in hand.

What else?
