Beef Stew -- just the thought brings up memories of Winter and beefy goodness.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds stew beef
  • 3 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 2 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 bay leaf (optional)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 3 large carrots, sliced
  • 3 ribs celery, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

How To...

1. Heat oil, brown meat on all sides

2. Add water, Worcestershire, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika

3. Cover and simmer 3 hours

4. To thicken after beef has started to fall apart, temper 2 tbsp of cornstarch by adding 1 cup of hot liquid to separate bowl containing cornstarch. Once stirred, add back to soup and stir.

Serve with beer(s) and yeast rolls
