One of my many cornbread recipes. This one is great on a cold night!

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp of Vegatable Oil
  • 1/2 lbs of Diced, smoked pork sausage
  • 1 1/4 C of All purpose flour
  • 3/4 C of Cornmeal
  • 2 tsp of Baking powder
  • 1 tsp of Salt
  • 1 C of Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 1/2 C of Buttermilk
  • 1/2 C of Chopped Green Onions

How To...


1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees

2. Heat oil in skillet (cast iron works best, need something that can go into oven)

3. Saute pork sausage in skillet, 7-8 minutes

4. Remove pork, leave oil and drippings

5. Combine rest of ingredients in bowl

6. Fold sausage into ingredients

7. Pour into skillet

Put skillet in oven, cook 25-30 minutes
