Mom's oatmeal cookie, made sugar free

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup Splenda & 2 Tbsp Sugar Free Maple Syrup [Substitute for 1 cup packed brown sugar]
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water.
  • 1 cup sifted all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3 cups uncooked oats
  • to make regular sugar cookies subsititute 1 to 1 sugar or brown sugar for Splenda

How To...


1. Melt Shortening

2. Beat shortening. sugars, egg, water, and vanilla until creamy.

3. Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda,

4. Mix Result with creamy mixture and stir in oats.

5. Drop on greased cookie sheet, about walnut size, and bake 12 to 15 minutes at 175.

6. If you want them flatter use a drinking glass, dip the bottom in sugar and press lightly on the dough walnut.
