It's spaghetti! American style.

Ingredients

  • 2lb. ground beef
  • 24oz. tomato sauce
  • 8oz. tomato paste
  • one half cup chopped fresh onion
  • one half cup chopped fresh sweet bell pepper
  • one hefty tablespoon italian seasoning mix
  • one packet dry onion soup mix
  • one cup chopped fresh mushrooms (optional) or one cup enoki mushrooms (excellent)
  • one quarter teaspoon ground fennel (optional)

Method


<p>Brown and drain burger.</p> <p>Return to medium heat, add sauce and paste, then stir.</p> <p>Add remaining ingredients and stir.</p> <p>When sauce starts to bubble, cover the pan and reduce heat to low.</p> <p>Simmer for one to two hours.</p> <p>This sauce seems to pick up even more flavor after refrigeration! Portions can be frozen and used later in dishes such as lasagna or manicotti. Try sauce over hot dogs! </p>
