These sweet and spicey pecans are great for a snack or in a green salad.
- 2cups pecans, halves or chopped
- 2cups water
- 2cups oil
- cayenne pepper
<p>Mix 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water and a dash of cayene pepper in saucepan. Heat over med-hi until boiling, stirring often, for 5 minutes.</p>
<p>Add 2 cups chopped pecans or pecan halves. Cook for 5 minutes, then drain, Fill pan 1/2 full with oil; heat on med for 5 minutes, then add pecans.
Cook, stirring often, for 5-10 minutes until a deep brown.</p>
<p>Drain pecans and place on cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.</p>
<p>Mix 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Sprinkle ove pecans. Cool</p>
<p>I added honey roasted peanuts for a snack but these pecans are great in a green salad.</p>
