My mom's recipe, beloved by all of us.
Brown sliced beef in butter and olive oil
Add garlic and onions
Cook two minutes
Add flour, cook 1 minute
Add beef broth, mushrooms, ketchup, and sherry
Simmer, covered, on low 20 to 30 minutes
Uncover, cook 10 minutes
Remove from heat, add sour cream and stir until combined.
Serve over egg noodles
