This is a variation of dump cake with apple filling. It's a great, quick, easy dessert that is sure to please.
In a large cake pan dump the apple filling in the bottom. I used 3 cans to make it thicker, but 2 cans works fine.
Dump dry yellow cake mix evenly on top of the filling.
Cut the 1.5 sticks of butter into fairly thin slices and evenly distribute on top of the yellow cake mix.
Cook 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
Take out of the oven and quickly sprinkle brown sugar over the top of the cake. I used 2 tablespoons, but do to taste.
Cook for 5 more minutes.
Test the cake with a toothpick to make sure the tooth pick comes out clean.
