simply and yummy

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
( omit these 2 ingredients if using self rising flour)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Method

Beat margarine and peanut butter on med. to high speed for 30 secounds. Add 1/2 cup of the flour ,sugar,egg, vanilla, and the baking powder and soda if using them.Beat till thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour..If Necessary cover and chill till easy to handle. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Flatten by criss-cross with fork tines. Bake in 375 degree oven till bottom is lightly brown 7 -9 minutes Makes about 3 dozen cookies, Put in bag after cool to keep soft

CHOCKLATE KISS COOKIES Prepare as above except do not flatten with fork before baking . Immedeately after baking press 1 chocolate kiss in each cookie

Note can double or tripple batch and referdigerate what you don't want to bake ,for a week

What else? I didn't have potatoes so I substituted rice I didn't have paprika so I used another spice I didn't have tomato sauce so I used tomato paste A whole can-not a half can-I don't believe in waste. A friend gave me the recipe She said you couldn't beat it There must be something wrong with her I couldn't even eat it!
