Add seasonal fruits for even better sangria.
Place ends of fruit in saucepan with sugar and water. Bring to boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Allow to cool. Squeeze juice from fruit into syrup. Discard ends. Mix remaining ingredients, including fruit slices, in large pitcher.
