Chocolate chip cookies are a classic dessert, but they are typically high in fat. This recipe reduces fat by more than 66% compared to traditional recipes by using a banana to substitute a stick of butter and by using mini chocolate chips!
Ingredients
1 3/8 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 medium banana (~1/2 cup mashed banana)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 large egg
3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Method
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt into a small bowl.
In a large bowl, mash the banana until it has a consistent texture (I used an overripe banana I had frozen, letting it thaw for about an hour).
Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla to the large bowl and mix.
Add and beat egg into large bowl.
Add mini chocolate chips into large bowl.
Gradually add flour mix into the large bowl.
Spoon onto a cookie sheet and bake for about 10 minutes.
