They say homemade sauce is hard, but it's actually really easy; you can control the salt and sugar too. I use this recipe with my easy lasagna, but works great in all dishes (like a dipping sauce for fried ravioli)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 can pureed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper

Method

Heat the oil in saucepan and saute onions. Add add ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. done!
